Mailbox is full of junk emails

Dear All,

I'm getting junk email with around 140-150 kb almost everyday and it my
mailbox is getting full and this emails are full of virus effected
attachments.

And I'm getting these emails right after subscribing Microsoft Newsgroups,
don't tell me that Microsoft Newsgroups can't control these things. I hope
others are also facing these problem.

Here I'm not using any exchange server or any email server, and no way of
blocking these stupid junk emails. Can anyone suggest me, how to avoid
these. ?

Help me out please, can't afford to receive anymore emails.

Regards
ItsMe

It's not Microsoft's fault. By posting here, your email address is
available to spammers (and viruses). That's part of the territory that
goes with posting in a public forum.

In future, you could post with a "nospam" address, eg

tony@nospam_ple ase.maximas.com .my

which isn't foolproof but should get rid of a lot of the problem.

Personally I just filter my spam with Spambayes.

An Jon suggests, you should hide your email address, but to combat spam, try
SPAMPAL

I've had my domain for a few years now and I get loads of SPAM emails,
SPAMPAL removes 99% of them.

SPAMPAL installs its self as a POP3 mail server, so it will work with any
email client.

Good to hear you have anti-virus software. This round of attacks would have
been stopped in its tracks if everybody in these technical newsgroups had
some installed. Every time someone new, who has no up-to-date anti-virus
software, downloads messages they become a new spam/virus generator for the
Swen.A/Gibe.F virus.

The only way to reduce the impact is for all of us to ask our email
providers to install anti-virus software so that an email of 150k would
shrink to around 2k when the virus payload is removed. We would still get
the spam email but it wouldn't fill up our mailboxes so quickly.

Spam Pal is great and I know that it gets faster the more you use it but it
slowed my downloads of email to the point where I couldn't keep up with the
spam/virus emails. You could also try mailwasher from www.mailwasher.net if
you need something easier to use and, initially, much faster.

There's a lot of information on spam and its prevention at
http://spamlinks.openrbl.org/spamlinks.htm. I've also
I posted some simple information on www.estraker.com under
Anti-Spam/Anti-Virus.

All my mailboxes have been filling up with files of about 130k to 150k, no doubt copies of some immensely popular virus. So, I've no doubt lost lots of real mail because of "mailbox full" conditions (the proliferating fake bounce messages more or less ensure nobody knows their mail to me has bounced, either). As an emergency response I and Anna developed, over the last half hour, a small Python script to be run from cron every few...

Sorry to bovver you again (again) here's script. I still can't see why the get_payload() doesn't produce the plain text message body of an emails in the testwwws users mailbox. As you can see I have tried a few things but no joy what am I missing. Is the another snippet in relation to get_payload to access the body contents print and process to a file. Cheers

As many of us know, when we send legitimate emails to real customers from our apps, those emails often end up in the Hotmail (and MSN -- and AOL, too) junk folder. I've done a lot of testing with Hotmail, using different domain sender names, different sending IPs, different SMTP servers, etc., different email text, and I still can't find out why Hotmail blocks so many good emails and throws them in the junk folder. The sending IP even has...

I want to extract emails from an mbox-type file which contains a number of individual emails. I tried the python mailbox and email modules individually, but I'm unable to combine them to get what I want. Mailbox allows me to iterate over all the mails but doesn't give me access the individual messages of a multipart mail. The email.Message module provides this, but I'm unable to iterate through all the messages with this module. ...

I would like to build a web application that will monitor a mailbox for new emails and then send a response. I have a reseller package with my hosting company, but they don't want to give me direct access to the mail server's API for security reasons. Can I instead somehow occasionally query my mailbox with POP? They won't deploy a standard app on their server because its shared amongst many resellers, is there a way I can do this with...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
