I'm developing a server control for our intranet. This control is only going
to be used in two applications on the server, but they must be separate.
It has been established that these 2 apps will use a specifically named key
from their respective web.config's. I want the control to use that key
regardless of which application it's being used on.
How can I get that key from the application?
I considered creating a config file for the...

Hi there,
I am writing a Windows App and need a Configuration file.
I wonder if I can use the WEB.CONFIG file to store my values.
I also wonder if I can use the ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings and if so,
what is the file name that it automatically look for.
Thanks,
Filippo

Hello
I've seen several examples around the web where people put all the
values in ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings into Application State
variables in global.asax, like this:
foreach (string key in ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings.Keys) {
Application = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings;
}

I'm writing a class library for my web app data access, but don't want to
hard code the database connection string in the class. Nor do I want to
pass the connection string in from the web app every time I access it. I
want to define the connection string in the web app ConfigurationSettings
and let the class library reference it itself whenever it needs a
connection.
How can I do this?

Hi all,
I have set up some config options in the web.config file and have
successfully used them in my test pages. When I came to abstract my
code from the design - by using code behind files, all of a sudden I am
told I can't use the ConfigurationSettings object because it isn't
referenced as a namespace.
I understand what the compiler is telling me is the problem but I'm not
sure what namespaces I need to include to make this work?

I'm currently using 1.1.
Is there any way using the value of a
ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings as a key of
ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings.Tosting(
)]?
for example in web.config
<add key="company" value="Hyundai" />
<add key="Hyundai" value="sonata" />

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
