Remoting w COM+ as Host

I know that Remoting requires a host application on the
server. Is it possible to use COM+ as the host? If so,
where can a good example be found?

I am absolutely bewildered by now by the Microsoft.Samples SSPI and Security assemblies. I've been trying to set these up in a very straightforward harness in the way that I'd like to be able to use them. No IIS. Use TCP, binary. Standard server example with a console host and console client. .NET 1.1, windows XP. (I tried posting to the remoting newsgroup, no answers in the last couple days, trying here in hopes that more people watch this...

Backround: I am trying to figure out how to do the equivalant of a classic COM Local Server Singleton in .NET/C#. I created a coupld of simple Class Libs that exposes public interfaces and hosted them in a Windows Forms EXE. Create a Windows Forms client and both the Client and the Host EXEs configure the remoting protocols through respective .config files. Problem: I want to change the host from an Win Forms EXE to a Windows Service.

Hi I posted a similar question like this to a reply to another thread but it wasn't really relevant to that thread and I don't think anybody read it so I'm posting a new one. I'm trying to think of a use for remoting in the workplace, but can't. I want to look cool by "running commands over the network" and using "virtual server application protocols" that would make me look the don in front of bosses and probably gain me a pay rise,...

Error: 0x80070005 Access is denied. I tried adding ASPNET to the Administrators group with no success. The error is preceded by the following warning:

Hi there, I have been messing around with remoting in an attempt to create a "shared application" as mentioned in another thread by that name. I have created a singleton object just like the example in the 101 VB.NET examples. It works great, only 1 instance ever gets created and is shared by each client. I have a few questions though, * Can the singleton contain events? In such a way that when the

Hello, I would like to clarify something about Remoting Object in .NET. Knowing from MSDN that in order for Remote Object to work, I need 3 components. a) RemotableType object, just like a regular dll with additional remotable feature. b) Host Application, which is a listener listens for remote clients of a remotable type

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
