Thanks.

Hey all.
I've got a legacy COM dll that I'd like to use in my multithreaded C#
app. Problem though is when I create several instances of the interop
object and start them on their own threads they always seem to run
synchronously.
I've boiled down the code to a simple "lab" experiment below. In this
console app you'll see that instance one comes back after roughly 4
seconds and then instance two comes back in 8 seconds, twice the...

I found a interesting problem in C# and couldn't explain it.
The code to reproduce it is very simple:
1. Create a windows application in C#.
2. Listen to the activated event on the default form --- Form1.cs
3. Create a method DoUpdate() which will popup two dialog boxes "Dialog box
one" and "Dialog box two".
4. Call DoUpdate() in the activated event handling.
It will look like the following:

Is there a way with Linux x86 to report a way the current stack trace
for a thread during runtime without a debugger? (I couldn't find
anything searching Google.)
For Windows this is possible. Here's an example of an application that
uses Window's stack tracing abilities:

Many thanks!

I have unmanaged C++ program that will load a managed C++ dll and then
call a function in that dll. The managed C++ routine will call some C#
routines. The unmanaged C++ main program will make these calls (to
the managed C++ dll) many times, from many different threads. Each
thread will do a LoadLibrary, call one C++ routine in the managed dll,
and upon return, unload the library and exit.
I'm concerned about class variables (static)...

Hi,
I'm working on a multi-threaded application. I'm using ThreadPools.
One of the requirements of the application is, if certain exception occurs
all the
counters have to be reset. I have noticed that some threads, even after
resetting
the counters, have the old values.

This is my first attempt at multi-thread programming, and I'm encountering a
program-logic problem that I can't quite put my finger on.
The program is pretty simple. I'm trying to validate a large list of email
addresses. Since the actual validation can take some time, I'm spawning new
threads, up to a predetermined maximum value, to process each new address.

Is the following the most elegant way to exit a multi-threaded
application on a Ctrl-C? I am a complete beginner and would have
thought there was some way of doing it without having to use while 1:
pass, but have yet to find a way.
N.B. exit() is a method for cleanly exiting the thread using a queue.
Many thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
