CR.NET: Cannot find Keycodev2.dll.. .sometimes

Howdy,

I'm working with VS.net 2003 (upgraded from 2002) on Windows 2000 sp3. My
web app is deployed on the same machine as VS.net.

I'm getting 'Cannot find Keycodev2.dll or invalid keycode' but only
periodically. When it happens, no one can get reports until IIS is stopped
and restarted. However that is all it takes to (temporarily) resolve the
issue.

I've worked through crnet_deploymen t.doc and deployed with a new merge
module with all the 2003 modules for the bundled version of CR with VS 2003.
I checked the registry keys in c2011205. Still no resolution.

The only change on the machine that might correlate to this issue is a
change of domain and promotion to domain controller. This was well after
upgrading VS to 2003.

Any idea on resolving this issue?

TIA,
Sean G.

Sean,

Go to http://support.crystaldecisions.com/support/ and search for
CRNet_Keycodefi x. They have all the documentation on this problem there.

Howdy,

Thanks for the tip, but still no go on the reports. I'm still getting the
keycodev2.dll error message when I try to produce reports while debugging or
running through VS.NET 2003.

After making the registry changes in CRNet_Keycodefi x I had to rebuild and
reinstall the setup project with the CR merge modules to get reports to work
on the test web site on the same machine as my VS.NET. I'll just have to
wait and see if the occasional errors I've been getting on the test site
come back.

Thanks anyway =)

I am trying to COPY, not deploy, ASP.NET application. I know that asp.net application can be copied without any problems by using "Copy Project" menu item, but only if it doesn't have any Crystal Reports files. Unfortunately, my app has few crystal reports included any somehow I get "missing keycode" error. I do have to mention that I don't have any problems deploying the app, since I provide CR merge modules and License Key.

I have just started using a book entitled "Teach Yourself C# Web Programming" and I find C#/ASP.NET very easy and powerful. I am learning C# and ASP.NET using this book. I also have Visual .NET software. I wonder why C#/ASP.NET is not more widely used. Most sites I see use ASP, or HTML, sometimes PHP, and older ones still use CGI/Perl. I always found debugging ASP, and CGI very difficult. Sometimes numerous attempts were needed to...

I am coming to the conclusion that Microsoft doesn't want you to use VB ..Net, based on my experiences. I've downloaded the Express version and signed up for various support options etc. At every turn I have found the whole experience frustrating, involving endless non functioning software, broken links, incomprehensible and irrelevant information, examples that don't work, help files that don't help and a complete lack of any sort of...

I am getting the following error: "Cannot find KeycodeV2.dll, or invalid keycode" I found a solution on MSDN titled "Deploying Web or Web Service Applications with Crystal Reports" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/crystlmn/html/crtskdeployingweborwebserviceapplications.asp). I followed the steps in this article but it doesn't resolve the issue. Has anyone else had problems with this?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
