Does PHP have a feature to associate Cookie sessions with a persistent
database connection that will allow a single transaction across
multiple HTTP requests?
Here is how I imagine my process: I have an series of interactive HTML
forms. The user begins a Cookie session. A database connection is
opened and a transaction is begun. After the user goes through any
number of pages where they update the database they finish on a page
where...

LINUX)and I'm wondering which is the best option to do :
I currently have one file for each of my modules, (I'm using filepro plus) ,

their own fields.

I'm looking for a tool that can extract only the schema from a database
in a form that can be used to generate that schema in another empty
database. This is to facilitate our disaster recovery processes where
we need the objects only, not the data, and need to replicate this to
our disaster recovery site over the WAN. There are plenty of tools
that can handle a single database, but does anyone know of any tools
that could handle...

I am having a terrible time getting this to work. I am hoping someone out
there can help me with very specific code examples. I am trying to get the
linked tables in my Access 97 database to be updated whenever the database
opens. I need to have them updated based on an INI file that resides in the
same directory as the current database.
I do not need or want the ability to open a dialog box to pick the location.
I simply want it to...

I don't think there's an easy way to do this but I thought I better ask just in case. I'm trying to come up with a way to search across a number of databases without resorting to lots of horrible scripts. In one database I have a lot of news stories from our news provider while in another database I have a lot of user entered content. Ideally I'd like to search across both databases via a single web-based search form.
The obvious way is to...

Hi,
How do I at the best way perform select statements over multiple
databases?
I have a couple of databases containing the same table definitions with
diffrent data. Now I want them to act as a single database giving me
one answer on a select statement but the answer fetched from all my
defined databases.

I need to design a system which represents multiple "projects" in SQL
Server. Each project has the same data model, but is independent of all
others. My inclination is to use one database to store all projects.
Looking at the numbers involved, however, I wonder if I would get
better performance by storing each project in its own database.
Suppose I have 50 projects, each with two users and 10,000 rows; it
seems to me I'd rather have 50 x...

We have a setup where we have a single web application, but the user can be
attached to any of a hundred different (identically structured) databases
depending on their login credentials.
Currently we are storing the connection string in Session and in each page's
Page_Init we reset any SqlDataSource's connection string. This works
reasonably well, though not ideal:
SqlDataSource1.ConnectionString = Session("dbconn")
I would like to...

Hello,
I use access 2003 and attempting to export/copy records between two access databases (almost identical) with multiple tables (both databases having the same relations between the tables).
I have no problems exporting records with an addition query for a single table into a singel table of the other database.
However, i would like to create a function to export the records in one go from the multiple tables in the first database to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
