Is there a way to execute a JOIN, and have the result of the JOIN populate a
new permanent table? I would like to execute a complex join and have the
results of the join, end up as records in a new permanet table.

Yes, you can populate a table with the results of any SQL query.
Syntax is:
INSERT INTO destinationTabl e (field1, field2, etc)
SELECT field1, field2, etc FROM ...

Yes, but he must create the destinationTabl e first

Not necessary if you replace "SELECT INTO" with "CREATE TABLE".
You can prefix any SELECT query with a CREATE TABLE {xxx} and a new physical
table {xxx} will be created for you.
And, of course -
The SELECT query can contain any kind of JOIN you please.

Hello,
I have a strange problem, maybe some of you will be able to explain me
something. I use LEFT JOIN as a substitute for subselects. It's true
that many subselects can be rewriten using LEFT JOIN. I have made a
query which use LEFT JOIN statement and... when there are many LEFT
JOIN's (over 3) on the same table MySQL execute this query very long
time... few hours or more. Maybe there is something wrong with my table
structures... Are...

I learned MySQL last year without putting it into action; that is why
I face trouble in formulating my queries. Were it a test, then you
would have passed it, because your queries did help me solve my problem.
I'll turn to MySQL doc after getting through this pressing project.
Thanks a lot Roger!

Hello,
I have query joining several tables, the last table is joined with LEFT
JOIN. The last table
has more then million rows and execution plan shows table scan on it. I have
indexed columns
on which the join is made. If I replace LEFT JOIN with INNER JOIN, index is
used and execution
takes few seconds but with LEFT JOIN there is a table scan , so the
execution
takes several minutes. Does using outer joins turn off indexes? Missed I

Hello everybody,
I have the following question.
As a join clause on Oracle we use " table1.field1 = table2.field1 (+) "
On SQL Server we use " table1.field1 *= table2.field1 "
Does DB2 have the same type of operator, without using the OUTER JOIN
syntax ?

I appreciate how difficult it is to resolve a problem without all the
information but maybe someone has come across a similar problem.
I have an 'extract' table which has 1853 rows when I ask for all rows where
period_ = 3. The allocation table for info has 210 rows.
I have two scripts below. The first script where I specify a period on a
join, brings back 1853 lines and works. The second script where I specify
the period in the...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
