I'm looking for a script that will allow users/admins to have a one
click backup solution for a MYSQL Database..
'BACK DATABASE' button, click and its done...
The a restore option, that shows all current backups, and restores the
selected one with one click...

I'm trying to move a database from one machine to another. I dumped the
database and successfully loaded it on one machine, but I can't do it on
another machine.
I have the database set up. I created the user to access the database,
and gave all privs with grant option for that database. But when I go to
run the command to restore the database, I get the following error:
$ mysql -u user -p database < database.sql

Subject: Can you retrieve/restore a MySQL user Password ?
I'm working on my own, local WXP, MySQL, version: 3.23.38-nt
and I have the "root" password, and normally use the root account.
I have forgotten one of the Passwords for a user account which I have
set up. Is there any way to UnEncrypt the users password, so I can
use that account again ? Any handy function that the "root" account
can use, to determine a user's password ?

Hi gang:
I'm experiencing a problem with MySQL -- I updated MySQL from version 4.1.0
to 4.1.10 and now when I login as root it doesn't show all the databases I
should have access to, nor it doesn't recognize me being logged in as root
(via CURRENT_USER().)

I'm supposed to set a password for the MySQL root user. The output of
mysql_install_db instructed me to run the following commands...
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h appserver password mynwewpasswd
I did. It did not work. Here's the error:

I succesfully exported my locally stored db using the following syntax:
mysqldump -u root --password=111 finance > sqlbk.dump
Now I created another empty db finance2 (on the same Mysql server) and
try to restore their my finance db:

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
