I am a relative newbie to MySQL. I had a Postfix+Courier+MySQL mail
server running for several months. It took me a week or so to get it up
and running in September. Now, I did a clean upgrade to Mandrake 9.2
and am reinstalling everything. This thing is kicking my ass and I

Using MS Access, I have attached to MySQL servers in other states
and other countries on the other side of my router. But when I use the
MySQL ODBC driver 3.51 to connect to a MySQL server on my own LAN,
the driver tells me it cannot make the connection. Here are the ODBC
driver connection parms:

Hi,
I have found many docs to see is there any way to figure out how can
mysql store the typed words or sql(whatever it is a valid sql or not)
so that we can just use "arrow up" or "arrow down"
easily to move to the previous sql or even some sqls typed yesterday or
in different sessions(such as by putty/konsole) that is already logged
out ?
Does anyone have any clues about this ? I think that it should be done

I've installed MySQL v4.1 onto my WinXP and unfortunately now need to
reinstall my OS.
I need to access my mysql command line history but don't know how. I
know there's a .mysql_history file but that's just on Unix. Is there a
similar file in Windows? If not, how does mysql remember all the
commands? Where is it's buffer?
Also, the doskey /history command only gives a history of the cmd.exe
prompt so that's not what I want either.

Hi,
I installed MySQL server 5.0 on a USB key. If I plug the key in another
computer runnng XP, start the server, run some queries, do some
updates, stop the server and remove the key, will it leave any traces
on that computer!?!?!?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
