Scenario:
1) Create a GLOBAL TEMPORARY table and populate it with
one (1) row.
2) Join that table to another with about 1 million rows.
The join condition selects a few hundred rows.
Performance: 4 seconds, the system is doing a full-table
scan of the second table, and the Explain Plan output

Hi,
I would like to double check how long a temporary returned by a function
lives?
Suppose I have an instance of a class type C, which has a member function
returning some sort of wrapper-decorator by value - thereby creating an
unnamed temporary. Assuming I start using the temporary (by calling its
members) in the same expression, can I assume that it will live long enough
to serve those calls?

In procedure (SQL) I declare GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE. Sometimes this
procedure is called twice a session and error creating table occure. I know,
I can create table on session begin. I think I can check in procedure
existing this table and declare or not it. Unfortunately I cannot find how
do it. I don't see item in syscat.tables. What is proper way?

Hello Ravi,
what you want to do is very tricky, but possible.
I've had this same problem - we want to identify the top user of
tempspace and eventually force him off when using too much space (FS
runs full).
For temptables (NON-DGTT) you can use db2pd to find the owner (-
tcbstats) here the application handle (agent id) is listed. But this
won't help for DGTTs, because this information isn't given.

Hi,
One query is failing on the database and its a long query which was
running fine earlier. One possible reason we can think of is increase
in data in tables in query.
It is failing with following error:-
SQL0659N Maximum size of a table object has been exceeded.
SQLSTATE=54032 (SQLSTATE 54032) -659
Earlier we were having the temp file system size of around 60 GB. then
once query failed with the error "File system full"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
