Hi everybody,
I have some big csv-like files with 15.000 and more artikles stored in it.
They should be put into a mysql database.
I thought about PHP processing
but only the read and print of these lines using the read_csv() function as
in the attached script has a more-minutes execution time.
What would be the better solution.. a Visual Basic written import tool that
uses ODCB or a PHP using one?

Newbie Question:
Is there a way to import MS Access into MySQL? Maybe create a CSV or
something. If so, what would be the SQL to do this?
Thanks...

Does anyone know how to import a .sql dump file into a mysql database using
php. I know how to do it using commandline, mysql < test.sql, but I am
writing an install script, and was wondering if it is possible to do it this
way. If not, do you know of any parser that will do all the importing/table
creation the .sql file defines? Any response is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie

Hi,
I am still stick on the text file being imported to database. Can anybody help?
I have just done the csv format files. And then I work on text and DAT formats, but I have problem to import these kinds of formats to MySQL ( and MS SQL)
Please see the attachments, and the text format is changed from DAT format, delimited by tabs or commas. I can't select and insert them into the database.
When I try:
select * from thisfile.txt and...

How does one import data INTO a table. I am forced to read files (\i)
w/ a ton of insert statements. I am trying to import approx 800 lines
into the table. However, I must bundle them into a series of files
because of the bug in PGSQL (the buffer overflows). Interestingly,
the literature claims that the one feature of PostgreSQL is SPEED.
HA! Reading a single file w/ all the same inserts into MySQL takes
literally a fraction of a...

Our production database in an exported textfil runs about 60 MB.
Compressed that's about 9 MB.
I'm trying to import the export into another machine running FC3 and
mySQL 11.18, and it appears as though the file may be too big!
When I try to do it via command line:
mysql -u root --host=localhost printing < ./printing.txt
It eventually errors out with a "syntax error on line X" and only about

Hi
I need to read in a large set of text files (9GB+ each) into a database
table based on fixed width lengths.
There are several ways to complete this, but I am wondering if anyone has
insight into the FASTEST way to read in the data and chop it up ahead of
posting it into the DB.
So far, things work, but they are far slower than expected.

I will try to explain my situation. I know that it is hard to offers
solutions without fully understanding what people would like to
achieve.
I receive 2 csv files every month. The csv files change name each
month. Each file contains 13 columns and around 20k rows. In each file,
the first row is the heading.
I have created a database that helps me sort out the data. Prior to
importing into the database, I have been copying the csv...

I have been through every trick I know, or has been suggested.
I have a one to two million line fixed field database in text format.
I want to bring it into Access 97.
When I use the external data import, the list of files to import does
not include text files of any type, only other database formats.
On a 102,000 line text file, I was able to split it with Word 97,
import the split files into Excel 97 one at a time, and then save...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
