Hi all,
I'm having great problems trying to install the latest MySQl RPM
package onto my Red Hat Linux OS.
There is already MySQL v 3.0 pre-installed with the RH Linux
distribution disk but I can not seem to get any of the functions
working on it. So I have now dopwnloaded the latest version hoping
that this will fix the error.
I have managed to install the MySQL-shared-compat-4.0.1-0.i386.rpm but

what is the most stable download I can get that includes mysql cluster?
the site says it is included in 4.1, and there's an rpm for 4.1, but it
also says there's no binary for cluster...
will I have to get the 4.1 beta source? is it in that one?

I'd appreciate any help/suggestions you people working with MySql
cluster can offer.
I'm hoping MySql Cluster can help us with a high volume need.
Our needs are (at max load) 10M Million inserts per hour. Each record
is narrow (20 columns mostly numeric).
We then update those 10M records...running some simple math
calculations.
We then categorize them (another update pass)
We then insert them to Sybase db

I m currently working on a Unix server with a fedora 3 as an os
My current version of mysql is 3.23.58. I'd like to upgrade the version
to 5.0.18.
After downloading from MYSQL.COM the package on the site, I made :
rpm -i MySQL-server-5.0.18-0.i386.rpm
then i have errors that relate to many conflicts. I cannot figure out
why -and- cannot upgrade. Please Help !

I have a client that desires a new application for use at several stores in
different cities. He wants "real time" access to all store data and the
ability to continue to run locally even if the internet connection goes
down.
It occurs to me that a local MySQL instance should definitely be
in each store to continue work if the net is down for any reason. But, what
is the best way to synchronize/share data among all of the stores?

We have a web-based app that's _really_ slowing down because multiple
clients are writing their own private data into a single, central
database. I guess the previous programmer did things this way because it
made things easy. Well, I'm the person that has to put up with
the long-term headache.
Anywho, someone at work wants things sped up, so what I'm looking

I'm new to mySQL. Is it possible to cluster mySQL on a Windows 2003
cluster. I need to create HI reliability mySQL database that IIS connects
to , so I created Windows 2003 Cluster with clustered IIS but I'm now stuck
on how to cluster mySQL. If clustering is not an option can I install mySQL
on both nodes and have data base on the shared drive then use script to
determine which node is active and connect to database file.

Hi,
We are currently installing a DB2 V9 ESE on a Linux server
(RHEL4U4-x86_64). Installation runs successfully on each node. Database
user environment is OK and the instance is well created. To be sure,
we've started the database with db2start =successfull. And then shut
it down again successfully too.
The tricks appears when we switch the hp MC/ServiceGuard (A.11.16 for
Linux) package to the other node... the database does not want...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
