Folks,
I am trying to install MySQL on RedHat 9 and the deamon stops
immediately. Here is what I get in the error log.
030908 22:01:45 mysqld started
030908 22:01:45 Can't start server : Bind on unix socket: Permission
denied
030908 22:01:45 Do you already have another mysqld server running on
socket: /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock ?

The installation of MSDE fails and I dont find any solution to get it
work. If I start the setup than a windows with the time bar appears and
says it will take 1 minute. After nearly 1 minute it closes the window
and gives no additional information. But I see that it generates first
all the directories and files in c:\Programme but after the setup is end
everything is deleted. Nearly everything , I see a service
"MSSQLServerADHelper" is...

Currently I am having a problem creating a windows service that
monitors a mapped drive for events (using the FileSystemEventHandler).
The service complies but fails to start:
"The XMLWatcher service on Local Computer started and then stopped.
Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for
example, the Preformance Logs and Alerts service."
The Service has no problem starting if i point the folder to be

the process returns process.ExitCode == 0 but executing any process with
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start on windows xp works fine.
anything to do different for windows server 2003? some special permission
for the process that executes another executable with

Hi,
I am writing a windows service. The code runs fine when I start the
service when my machine is running but
it fails to start automatically when the machine reboots. The code
bombs out when it reaches code that tries to access

I have written a rather simple php script using class_jabber.php
(http://www.centova.com). It just logs in as a bot, and keeps track of
the on/offline status of our support staff (writing to a firebird2
table). It works fine as is when it's running.
The problem is that the daemon will stop working (exits memory) without
any trace in the log files after seemingly random amounts of time.
I use set_time_limit(0); to prevent PHP stopping...

I have a solution consisting of a c# project as win application and a c++
project as classlibrary. Both are .net 2.0
The classlibrary handles some loading of quicktime movies, but that should
not be relevant.
On my development machine I build the exe and dll and run the exe which has

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
