where is my.cnf in redhat?

Mau
Could someone help me find the cnf file so i can turn on the bin log?
I can't locate a my.cnf anywhere, but i can find

/usr/share/mysql/my-huge.cnf
/usr/share/mysql/my-large.cnf
/usr/share/mysql/my-medium.cnf
/usr/share/mysql/my-small.cnf

,and I don't know which of those is being read on startup. I tried
looking at the /etc/init.d/mysql script, but couldn't figure it out.

I'm using redhat ES2

thanks a lot guys

Your supposed to copy one of those cnf files (depending on what best
describes your machines horsepower) to the /etc directory and rename
it 'my.cnf'.

Hi folks- I'm about to move from a Solaris 8/SPARC environment to a Dell running RedHat 9. Are there any issues I need to be aware of in bringing my Python code over (mostly scientific computation)? In particular, I know earlier versions of RH shipped with an "old" Python installed as "python" and that installation of more recent versions...

I'm trying to build Python 2.3.4 from source on a RedHat Enterprise machine for installation in a net-wide accessible directory /net/python. I tried all of the following variants of ./configure (the first was required for Python 2.3.3 on RedHat 9): ../configure --prefix=/net/python --enable-unicode=ucs4 ../configure --prefix=/net/python...

I was trying to install Oracle on a Linux box with Redhat and got an error message saying the OS had to be Redhat 2.1 or 3.0 (plus some other non-Redhat versions). Does anyone know what I have to do bypass this since I am clearly using a higher version of Redhat.

When I did my RedHat9 install, I choose Workstation and customized the packages I wanted install. As a part of that customization, I chose mySQL DB; however, I can't seem to find any RedHat documentation that says how to get to these installed packages. I would like to just start using them, but not sure where to start. Any hints to get up...

To make a long story short, let me say I had MySQL working on Windows 98 and everything was fine. Well, I took the big leap and removed all traces of Windows and Microsoft from the computer. (hooray!) Once I had Linux running OK, I downloaded and installed MySQL using an RPM package. I guess the server is running (it says it is every time...

Hello, I've installed redhat 9 on my box and postgresql (with it's -devel package) and found that it didn't contain libpq++. I tried a search on redhat and rpmfind with no luck (rpmfind found only suse packages). I know that I can download from gborg.org and compile it, but I'd prefeer the rpm packages. Does anyone knows where is it?

This isn't entirely PG related, but... Does anyone know what the natural upgrade path from RedHat 9 is? I'm wondering if anyone on the PostgreSQL team is working with redhat to package and bundle versions of PostgreSQL for the latest redhat. Is there going to be a RedHat 10? Or are we all supposed to choose a path of RH Enterprise vs...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
