error with mysql setup

After an installation of Namo WebBoard messed up my MySQL installation - I
have been unable to get it fully working again.
My setup is as follows:
Apache 1.3 / MySQL 4 / PHP 4

When I use phpmyadmin I get the following error:
#1045 - Access denied for user: root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

My php logs are coming up empty. I have done all I can think of, and all that made sense to me. Can someone take a look at my php.ini please and tell me what you think may be the problem. I double-checked the path to my error log. It is in /var/www/logs/php_error_log Thanks. :) -Wayne Stevenson

Hello. I am currently working through a book on Dreamweaver and using PHP. I am having a little trouble with setting up the database though. I have php 4.2.3 and MySQL 4.0.20a. I am running locally with Apache 1.3.27 on Windows XP Pro. I seem to have finally got MySQL running after a lot of difficulty. In the book it says to type source C:\mysql\newland_tours.sql at the mysql> prompt, to generate the newland_tours database in my...

After a failure, we promoted a slave to master. This included renaming the server to the old master's name and ip address, but leaving the server id alone. The new master works fine. We repaired the old server, gave it a different name and ip address but leaving the server id the same. I get the following error on the slave:

Please note, I already posted this on the MySQL official forum, but received no response. I thought I'd try again in another location. My apologies to anyone reading this twice... Despite everything I've tried, I cannot get MySQL to start as a Windows service. However, I AM able to get it started via the mysqld-nt --console command. Here is my (funky) setup:

I've been trying to get MySQL-python to install on Leopard for the past couple of days, and I keep running into relatively the same error. I'm hoping that someone on this list will be able to help me out in solving the issue. I'd like to get this solved so I can continue developing with Django using MySQL since that's what my web server uses as well. I'd hate to have to develop using a different database engine on my local...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
