Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with this.
Bog standard SuSE 8.2 Linux install.
I have installed mySQL (off the SuSE 8.2 distro CDs). I can connect locally,
e.g:
bealzebub> mysql -u root -p mysql -h localhost
....logs me in just fine. However, this:

Hi!
I'm currently trying to move from MS SQLServer to MySQL, running on
windows XP.
When trying to connect to mysql on localhost with mysql control center
I get the 2013-error "Lost connection to MySQL server during query".
I can connect from command line. If I do so, and change passwords by
using OLD_PASSWORD('<password>'), control center runs nicely, but then
ByteFX fails to connect with "Access denied for user...".

Is there any known SQL Server bug whereby a record can be successfully
inserted and committed, but then later be found not to be in the
database? For example, if there was a server crash just after the
commit, could committed data be lost?
I'm sure the answer must be "no", but a client is telling me this is
happening, and I said I'd enquire.

We have implemented unhandled error trapping at the application level and
log these errors to our database. One error, however, the does not get
trapped is when the connection pool has exceeded the max number of
connections.
Obviously, we need to find the place(s) in our code where connections are
not closed correctly (espcially in loops), but I'm wondering if it's
possible to trap this error and to find out which part of our code (i.e....

I created a simple user control and placed it on another page. Often I get
this error:
"Could not reformat the document due to line 27. The original format was
restored."
Line 27 in the HTML is this:
<uc1:_Header id=_Header1 runat="server"></uc1:_Header></TD></TR>
Any ideas?

Hello,
When centering a block of HTML, in the past, I've always used:
<div align="center"> ... </div>
However, in VS 2005, I get the following warning:
"Validation (XHTML 1.0 Transitional): Attribute 'align' is considered
outdated. A newer construct is recommended."

Hi,
In my application, I have a web browser control and load up a local
html page. Within the html page, the following code exists. However,
when I click on the button that invokes the 'form action', nothing
happens. I'd like the event to spawn a new browser window. Is there
an event I should be catching?

I've been banging my head on this one for a while now, so maybe someone else can figure out what's wrong here. I have several tables throughout my site which are defined using:
<asp:Table ID="tbl1" runat="server" HorizontalAlign="center" CellPadding="0" CellSpacing="0">
...plus the rest of the table. The tables center properly in the browser, but when I try to validate the site with the W3C validator at validator.w3.org I get:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
