AIX 5.1 binary from UCLA site?

I wonder if anyone would share your experience with the binary download
from the UCLA library? I am thinking of an AIX 5.1 box (32 bit) first.
If things go well, and if manager allows, I'd like to try another box
(AIX 5.1, 64 bit). It'd be nice to hear a success story before taking
the jump.

Also, is UCLA's binary the same as the one at mysql.com site? If
different, in what way? Is one of them 64bit and the other 3 2bit? Or
are they both 32 or 64 bit?

Thanks!

Jay

I believe it is universally accepted that decorating your website with images from someone else's, without permission, is rude and unethical, even if the images are in the public domain, because to do so is to steal bandwidth. But I have run across a situation where people are linking to other types of resources that I offer on my website without my permission, and I was interested to know if there is a consensus on the ethics of this...

I'm considering deploying an application that will us an IP address locaiton database provided by Ip2location.com... http://www.ip2location.net/ip2location-dotnet-component.aspx their .net component reads data from a binary file. I'm guess i'm wondering which of the two options would be best. 1) read data from the binary files (~27 mb or so) 2) or query a sql DB with the same info.

Hello, Here's a quick explanation & problem: i have an ASP (iis v5.0) application that generates a pdf file and this file is saved to the server. it is saved in a location not available to web users. i have an asp script (below) that sends the pdf file to the user as a binary stream. So that the user specifies which file to upload, the script performs some security checking and if it passes, it sends the pdf document.

Hello. I am attempting to write binary data from a file to an OLE Object field, and then write the file back out from the database. I am reading and writing the files in binary mode, and using GetChunk and AppendChunk to read and write binary data from the OLE Object field. I am using VBA and DAO for this experiment. The OLE Object field is being used to store Long Binary data.

I have an aspx page that is sending pdf files to client browsers: it uses a filestream to read the pdf file and response.binarywrite to send content to the browser. This has worked great for years in IE, Firefox and Opera on windows, and it works on a Mac with Firefox and Opera. But this fails in Safari with the generic message "A network error occurred while accessing this document". Here is a link to try out ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
