Setting up password fails

Hi

Having a problem setting up a password for MySQL

The reported problem when attempting to set up a root password is;

C:\mysql\bin>my sqladmin version
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)'
Check that mysqld is running on localhost and that the port is 3306.
You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'

When checking this:

C:\mysql\bin>te lnet localhost 3306
Connecting To localhost...Cou ld not open connection to the host, on port
3306: C
onnect failed

Appreciate any suggestions
David

There seems to be way too much confusion over how to set focus on the a field using a field validator. I looked all over the web and found people trying to do this, but not getting anywhere. There are a couple of people selling components... but that is not really an option for me... So, I took the plunge and modified the "WebUIValidation.js"...

OK, I have code that I used in a standard windows app that would create an account and then set the password. I have taken that code and am using it in a Web App. Here's the code: user.CommitChanges(); user.Properties.Value = 0x200; //Normal user user.Invoke("SetPassword", new object {szPassword});

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
