Hi I am interested in converting a Access 97 application to VB.Net (well okay rewriting). This would be a VB.Net client with a SQL Server backend, as opposed to my other alternative which would be rewriting this as an Access XP application with a SQL Server backend. I have worked enough in VB.Net at home to known that this would be a better solution but this would be the first application for our company using VB.Net (a largely...

Hello, I bought Visual Studio 6.0 Professional several years ago as a college student with the academic price/license. Microsoft's Upgrade Eligability page (http://tinyurl.com/3mtga) does list VS 6.0 Professional as an upgrade, but it mentions nothing about the academic license. Does anyone know of a Microsoft page that states whether the academic version may or may not be upgraded to a single license of Visual Studio .NET 2003...

Hi, I have db2 workgroup 7.2 and am planning to upgrade to 8.1 workgroup server edition. Could someone please tell me if the order in which I do this as listed below is correct? ON THE SERVER --------------- 1. stop all db2 services 2. install db2 8.1 (I guess this should automatically upgrade the earlier version?) 3. install the latest fixpak for 8.1

Hi, I have a copy of Access 97 while my client uses Access 2000 which supports Unicode. My client has ordered a copy of Access 2000 upgrade for me, but the middleman, atomicpark.com is totally ABSURD, first they delayed delivery and secondly when they sent the ordered product they sent me a badly damaged CD, when I asked for replacement they did not even bother to apologize instead telling me to contact them. I don't ever ever want to...

I have a user who currently has Access 97 installed on her PC. She has purchased a new PC and would like to have Access installed on it. She would like to upgrade her current Access to Access 2003. When installing the Access 2003 upgrade on the new PC, do I have to install Access 97 first, then run the Access 2003 upgrade CD? And if so, do I need any unlocking or any type of codes during the Access 97 installation? Or can I just run...

We have several machines currently running the DB2 V7 Run-time Client that we would like to actually be running the App Dev Client. To 'upgrade' (within the same version) this client software can we simply install the App Dev Client on 'top of' the Run-time Client? Will the install routine uninstall the Run-time Client under the covers during the install of the App Dev Client? Also, is this type of 'upgrade' possible/supported during a...

Our company just upgraded to VS 2005 (and by the way, I love it!) I was able to migrate the code for our product from VS2003 to VS2005 with only a few snags, and it's working great now. However we are trying to come up with a non-intrusive way to allow our fairly large number of clients to be able to upgrade to the new .NET 2.0 version of our product. We have our own auto-upgrade code inside our product (it downloads updated dll's from...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
