Hi,
I'm completely new to MySql and need help importing tables from Access or
Dbase. I am using Dreamweaver MX to create a data-driven web site. With the
VPS hosting plan we're on, our remote FreeBSD server only supports the PHP
application server. PHP requires MySql. Thus, I installed a copy of MySQL
Control Center 0.9.2 beta. (I prefer a GUI and not command prompts unless
necessary.)
The information I plan on using in developing this site will be derived from
a contact management program called GoldMine. The records will be exported
into DBase tables, and somehow imported into the MySQL/PHP/Dreamweaver
environment.
From what I can gather so far, the MySQL environment I'm working under will
not work with Access or DBase tables. Thus, I've created a new table in
MySQL and re-created the various fields to match what I have in the DBase
table. Now I want to import all the records I have in my DBase table. In
fact, I will need to update the MySQL database weekly.
So far, I have been successful in making all the connections work, except
for importing the table into MySQL. In the MySQL Control Center, once you
connect to the database, there is an option to import, but it is dimmed out.
How do I make it work?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi,
Not really a PHP specific question, but I am using PHP on Linux box so
it's kinda relevant.
I'm developing a site which will periodically update inventory via a
large batch file. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas, caveats, etc on
how to update the inventory. At the moment, I'm simply uploading the
batch file via a web interface and in that same PHP page executing sql
to populate the database with the data from the batch file. Is...

I have some Visual Foxpro tables that I want to convert to tables in a MySQL
database. VFP contains no MySQL export facility. Can anyone suggest a tool
to handle the conversion? An indirect conversion via an intermediate format
supported by both would be OK.
Many thanks.

Hello,
I have the contents of a MySQL database sitting in a folder. Each file
in the folder is an ISAM table that is comprised of three files, its
..frm, .MYI and .MYD. I would like to import this database on another
MySQL installation running on another machine. I thought it would be
as simple as mysqladmin create <database_name> and then navigating to
the databases data directory and dropping in the ISAM files, however,
when I connect...

Hi, I have researched but have not found a good solution to this
problem.
I am importing large amounts of data (over 50 Meg) into a new mysql db
that I set up. I use
>mysql dbname < importfile.txt
But I keep getting timeouts and errors due to the data being too
large. I know that since if I break the imported data into multiple
chuncks (by importing a few tables at a time) then everything works.

We are running on Win 2003/DB2 V8 FP7a.
My question concerns Task Center. I have about 200 tasks created and
scheduled in Task Center. We are going to be moving many of the
databases from this server to another V8 server and I really, really,
really don't want to have to re-key all of these tasks on the new
system.
The Task Center "export" function seems to only export general task
information like the description and type of task,...

I can import a csv file with no problem. I can also add columns to the
datagrid upon import. I want to be able to start importing at the 3rd
row. This will pick up the headers necessary for the datagrid. Once I
can get to that point I need some way to be able to add new data only
to the new columns that were added.
Here is some of my code:

I've migrated a database named "crime" from an MS Access database to MySQL 5.0.37 using the MySQL Migration Toolkit 1.1.11. What i want to do is to copy the database folder from
C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\data
to the same folder on another machine. So i copied the files directly over, ran MySQL and it recognizes the database (i can see the database included in the list) when i type the command

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
