I am trying to compare the tables in two similar environments using the
SQLDMO object. I am able to use this object to access different SQL servers
and choose two different databases. The versions of the databases are
slightly different so I would like to be able to compare them for things like
datatypes, primary and foreign keys, number of records etc. I know that
there are packages out there that do this kind of thing but I have to...

I have got 2 XML documents, both of which conform to the same XSD Schema,
which define possible optional elements. The 2 XML documents contain 2
disjoint set of XML elements.
What is the best, easiest, most efficient way of merging the 2 XML
Documents? Can I use DataSet.Merge() facility in ADO.NET?? Any
pre-requisites?
Any other suggestions?

I have an MS Access form on which I have a listbox listing tables in
that database. I want to be able to click on any of those tables and
view its contents on the same form using subforms or any grid control.
I tried many grid controls (DBGrid, DataGrid, MSFlexGrid), the ADO
Data Control and everything I can think of, with no success. Here are
the contraints I faced:
(1) Populating any of the grid controls manually is too slow for my...

I have posed a question last saturday and have advanced alot in the
meantime. But I am still not there
Problem is that I try to merging various fields from various tables in
one document in Word

Complete code follows.
I am new to .NET programming (and programming in general) and I am having a
difficult time understanding how to fill a variable in one sub, and then
access it from another. I have tried declaring them as shared, public,
friend, etc and I always get an error stating that something is not valid
on a local variable declaration.
For example, in the following code for Sub DataGrid_Select, I have
CurrentID and...

I know this question has been asked many times before but I can't find an answer that fits my data!
I have two Access databases. The tables in each have the exactly the same fields except for one (which was added into the tables in the second database). Thye do have different records.
I want to merge the records from the tables from in the first database into the tables in the second. Other answers have suggested merging the tables in a...

I have a multi threaded VB.NET application (4 threads) that I use to send
text messages to many, many employees via system.timer at a 5 second
interval. Basically, I look in a SQL table (queue) to determine who needs
to receive the text message then send the message to the address. Only
problem is, the employee may receive up to 4 of the same messages because
each thread gets the recors then sends the message. I need somehow to
prevent...

I am trying to get my head around dataset merging but despite a little
research I could still use a pointer (or ten). Basically I want to perform
an outer join operation on a dataset (created from a file operation) and the
resulting sql query based on the contents of said dataset. Effectively I
would end up with two dataset tables in my application. If I were writing
this to action from two tables it would be thus:
SELECT ds.id, db.*

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
