Hi all.
Another question...
I'm trying to diagnose a problem I'm having with MyISAM tables, and it
was recommended that I use the binaries instead of compile MySQL myself.
I noticed the binaries have 'i686' in their name.
Does this mean they are optimised for an i686, or will only work on an
i686? I have a K6-2 which only likes things compiled with -march=i586 or
-march=k6

The problem is that when I installed Slackware I told it to install
MySQL. I thought it did so. I looked around and found in the
directory /etc/rc.d/ a file called rc.mysqld.new wich I read.
It said to make this file executable so that it would start the
daemon at system boot. I made it executable. Needless to say it didn't
work.

I am new to MySql. I installed Solaris 10 on a Pentium machine. Then i
came to know that MySql comes bundled with Solaris 10. So i installed
MySql which came with the Solaris 10. Then i checked the version of the
MySql i installed using mysqlcheck -V and the version shown was 4.0.24.

I've read the MySQL licensing material and what I've found online, but
I'm still unclear about when I have to pay MySQL for a license.
Scenario: I've created an application that stores some data in MySQL

According to documentation on PHP site, MySql support is not built in to
the v. 5.x Windows binaries posted on the site. Does anyone know where
to get PHP 5.x Windows binaries with MySql support turned on? I'd rather
not have to rebuild the product.

I am trying to learn PHP and was reading the book by Laura Welling and
Luke Thompson. Obviously, PHP is already installed on a server when
hosted by an ISP already. Is there a way to just download PHP 5 onto my
laptop as well as MYSQL and practice learning it with coding and
scripts, etc.? I don't have another machine to install Apache or IIS.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
