>Description:
It would be nice if general query logging could be switched on and off
while the MySQL server is running, and not only at startup time.
While debugging an application that uses foreign database access
libraries, this would be very helpful. One could switch on logging,
perform an activity, switch off logging, and look what has happened.
Otherwise, the server has to be restarted to change logging, which
is a bit annoying......

Currently we have SQL Server running on a single RAID5 array.
The data and the logs are all written to this array. We don't
have huge volume of activity, but it is growing. Most activity
is from our website that interacts a lot with the database.
We have read that it is a good idea to separate the data files
from the log files, having each on separate disks (or in the
case of RAID, separate arrays). So, we are considering adding
a...

Hello,
I am trying to turn on General logging on mysql server .
If I go >mysqld -l filename
on shell, it says "command not found". What is the best way to create
General log on a live server.
Somehow MYSQL server doesn't have a my.cnf file. I have searched all
over but there are no signs. Whenever I have to start/stop/restart the
server, I use the ready-made mysql script.

Is there a command line switch available for the EventViewer which will allow
me to specify which directory to view the available logs from?
I will have multiple workstations writing to a mirrored set of really large
flash drives. The workstations will write to their specific standard .evt
files. I need to be able to start EventViewer and specify which
workstations's logs to go view at startup.
Is this possible w/o creating my own...

I want to add a feature to a project I'm working on where i have
multiple users set up on my Postgres database with varying levels of
access. At the bare minimum there will be a login user who only has
read access to the users table so that users can log in. Once a user
has been logged in successfully I want to escalate that user's access
level to one appropriate to their role, which will include switching
the postgres user they are...

Hey,
This may sound odd, but is there anyway to catch the current or just
run query from inside a trigger? Kinda like how profiler displays the
query just as you've run it, along with all the statistical data...
But I'm just looking to capture the query itself and save it in a
logging table.
I just need to save an executing query in certain circumstances (if
detected an attempted sql injection attack) for logging purposes.

I plan to implement an exception logging feature in an ASP.NET Web
application that writes encountered exceptions to disk. The exception data
will be stored as XML.
I am planning on having each exception written to its own XML file. I plan
to NOT append exceptions to a single XML file because I don't want for the
exception logging component to have to deal with contention for access to
the file. This is possible when, for example,...

Every time I look at the logging module (up until now) I've given up and
continue to use my home-grown logger that I've been using for years. I'm not
giving up this time ;-)
I find that I REALLY need to be able to monitor LOTS of running
programs/processes and thought it would be nice to have them use SocketHandler
logging and then I would write TCPServer to accept the log messages for
real-time monitoring. I Googled (is that now a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
