Hi,

does anybody know how to copy a record within one
table? I am looking for some simple method similair to
INSERT INTO orders SELECT * FROM orders WHERE
Order_ID=256; Actually, this method does not work and
I can not believe that MySQL does not offer some
simple method how to do it. Keep in mind that I have a
60-field table. So, naming all fields is a pretty
tedius task.

I have situation where I need to copy multiple records (only certain fields) from a Rules table to an Events table based on a selection identified in a combo box. When the selection is made in a parent table, multiple records in a child table are affected. However, I'm a bit weak on programming experience. INSERT INTO is not suitable. Any ideas? When the combo box update property is triggered, the code needs to accomplish: IF...

Hello All, I have a form (FrmA) with a subform (SubFrmB) embedded in it. SubFrmB also has a subform embedded in it (SubFrmC) The form's recordsource is based on a table (TblA). SubFrmB's recordsource is also based on a table (TblB). SubFrmC's recordsource is also based on a table (TblC). There is a one-to-many relationship between TblA (one) and TblB (many).

Hello all, This is going to be a rather lengthy "question". I have an Access 2k database, separated front end/back end. Front end copies are on about 30 workstations and used frequently during the work day. The backend has a table called CLIENTS with approximately 6000 client records. Changes to data in the table are made via a frontend db Form which has CLIENTS as its record source.

Alot of my forms are bound. I would like to offer a Cancel option so that they can make as many changes as they like and still Cancel out without making any changes. I have one idea of how to do this for new records; tag each record with a boolean value. On clicking OK, these are all set to True and the form closes. If they Cancel the False records are deleted and the form closes.

The last days we had a lot of crasches using a application made in Access. there appears a screen : this isn't a ms datbase, database needs to be repaired. Repairing the database can't be done. Looking into one of the tables i've seen in the ID autonummering under line 40233 there' a negative number like -1232356561313 and under that rule we have 5 blanco autonummering rules. After these rules the nummering continues 40239 and the further...

I hope someone can help...I feel like I'm walking in the dark without a flashlight (I'm NOT a programmer but have been called to task to do some work in Access that is above my head). I have code that will successfully copy a record and append the information to a new record in the same table (parent table) within a form. However, there are related child tables with primary keys (set to Autonumber) stored in sub-forms. That information...

Anyone: I have a simple MSAccess DB which was created from an old ASCII flatfile. It works fine except for something that just started happening. I'll enter info in a record, save the record, and try to move to another record and get an Access error "Record is too large". The record is only half filled, with many empty fields. If I remove the added data or delete some older data, then it saves ok and works fine again. Whenever I'm...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
