Suppose I have an innodb table in 4.0.14 and do:
LOCK TABLE maggie
INSERT INTO maggie values(123, 'simpson');
UNLOCK TABLES
As soon as I issue LOCK TABLE, any transaction in progress is
automatically committed.
By what point is this INSERT guaranteed to be committed to disk

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help us with this strange Innodb problem. At about
5:15 AM 2/2/04 (this morning), our slave server stopped accepting
connections. The machine was pingable, but you could not SSH into the
machine.
We had to manually reboot the machine, and restart the slave. Looking
in the error file we found this:

I built a system using mysql innodb to archive SMS messages but the
innodb databases are not keeping up with the number of SMS messages
coming in. I'm looking for performance of 200 msgs/sec where 1 msg is
1 database row.
I'm running on Red Linux:

I am using Apache2triad 1.2 as local development environment. It is
working fine, but I cannot create InnoDB tables with the phpMyAdmin
2.5.6 included in this package.
According to the my.ini file (see below) some lines in this file must
be commented or uncommented to use innoDB. If I do this, the mySQL
server does not start any more.
Thanks for your help

Hello all. I'm trying to get mysql installed on OpenBSD 3.4.
Unfortunately, it appeares that the port only installes the
mysql-client, and one needs to install the -server package seperately.
This would be fine with one exception, there is a dependency that
breaks when installing from ports. This lead me to install from
source, and now I'm having problems just getting mysql to start.
If anyone could look at the error message below, and...

I'm using InnoDB with Mysql and I've used delete to delete over 10
million records, but the InnoDB database is still the same size on the
disk (over 100 gigs) is there a way to get Mysql/InnoDB to shrink or
trim this size?
and also, can I set a maximum size and make it so itll rotate itself,
as in purge out old entries as new ones come in when it hits the
maximum?
I'm not used to InnoDBs... so I could use some help with this...

How can I see how much disk space is being occupied by an InnoDB table?
Looking into /var/lib/mysql doesn't seem to work anymore for InnoDB tables.
Please tell also if there is a way to see how much space is occupied by
a particular row or column of a table.
Thanks

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
