Problem:
I am fetching data from the database, storing it in a
dataSet, and binding it with a Data Grid. The DataGrid
controls allows sorting. The problem is that when the data
is sorted on one of the columns in the Data Grid, and I
then try to retrieve the selected row using
the "SelectedRowIndex", I get the row as per the original
order of data.
Eg: If the order of rows is: C - A - B, which after
sorting becomes A - B - C. Now, if I...

Does anybody have an actual example of retrieving an Image data type column
from a SQL Server table using a dataset (not a datareader)? I would like
to see the statements that would move the Image returned in the dataset to a
picture box, like:
For Each dr in ds.tables(0).rows
Pic.Image = dr("ImageColumnName") 'not this simple!

I can successfully write the binary data to an image data type, and
successfully retrieve it, but when I attempt to play the file in media player
after retrieving it, I get the file type isn't supported.
I must be losing something somewhere, but the byte lengths match up. Is
there some encoding I need to do.
Please take a look, and suggestions would be appreciated.

Can some help me out retrieving word, pdf, etc. docs and streaming to the
browser?
I'm saving the docs as an image data type along with it's original filename
and retrieving them using a datareader but I'm not sure how to set the
headers properly (i.e Content-Length)
Articles on this using C# would be a big help. Thanks.

Hi, I recently wrote an ASP.Net web application in VS2005 and published
(using VS2005 Publish feature) it to a relatively clean machine with
ASP.Net 2.0 and MDAC 2.8 installed on it. However, when I try to create
my SQL connection in the code-behind, I get the following error. I
tried to register the DLL using regsvr32 but that errored out saying,
"dllregisterserver entry point was not found". Any ideas?

I have a table with over 1.3 million rows. I am retrieving only 20 at a time
using the with - over clauses
In query analyser, the data is retrieved in under a second.
When retrieving using the data adaptor.fill or datareader to retrieve the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
