I used the following SQL to create a new table in a database on
a remote MySQL server by copying one already there. I know the
table exists SOMEWHERE in cyberspace. I can read its data, write
to it, delete from it. But I cannot see it. The only way I know it
exists is by running this SQL from Access 97 pass through query:
SELECT ALL new_tbl.name FROM new_tbl
The database resides on a MySQL server that was created with
a single table...

Hi
I have following problem: when I try to connect from Windows XP to mysql
server (linux computer), I get the following error: Lost connection to mysql
server during query. This happens when I test the connection.
I have firewall in linux, so I opened the port 3306. Is there something else
I need to change to make sure that the connection will work properly?

With mysql-4.1.1-alpha, using any User Defined Function ( UDF) at the
query execution stage, on Linux 2.6, gave me the following error:
"ERROR 2013 (HY000): Lost connection to MySQL server during query"
However, upgrading to mysql-4.1.2-alpha seemed to solve the problem.
Both versions were configured exactly as follows
../configure --with-openssl --enable-thread-safe-client --with-mysqld-ldflags

I have a script on one server, trying to access the MySQL database on
another server. The server with the script is on an outside network,
hosted with another company. The MySQL server is here in the
office;behind a firewall. Script works fine when it is on the local
machine, but when I moved it to the offsite webserver it gives me:

Morning,
This one is really driving me insane. I am developing a site for a client who doesn't particularly want to move their hosting away from their current provider. The current host are absolutely terrible with their support (shocking for a large hosting company) and I am running out of ideas.
I usually use Dreamweaver to it's full potential when developing sites but due to the fact that the host won't allow external access to the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
