I have over 5000 thumbnail pictures of size 5kb each. I would like to
able to load all 5000 pictures and view 50 per page using
mysql_data_seek(). I would like to know what are the advantages and
disadvantages of using a MySQL blob field rather than reading the
images directly from the file? How does one insert an image into a
blob field? Can it be done dynamically?

I would like to be able to extract a BLOB from the database (SqlServer)
and pass it to a browser without writing it to a file. (The BLOB's
are word doc's, MS project doc's, and Excel spreadsheets.
How can I do this?

im doing my first ASP.NET app that inserts & retrieves files from
Oracle (no need for a discussion on *that*!).
i learned first-hand of the somewhat awkward technique for inserting
binary data into an Oracle BLOB column via ADO.NET. since my files are
larger than 33k, it seemed had to use this technique:

Hello guys!
This is Cristian From Argentina, and I wanted to ask you some help,
I've looking on this and it makes me mad, I found that the error is in
the $content , when y try to insert the record into the table via PHP
code i receive an error message saying that the sin taxis its
incorrect,however if i print the query echo ($query) and i copy and
paste the query in the PHPmyAdmin the insert executes successfully.

Hi,
I'm trying to select the content from a BLOB field in a oracle table.
The regular select statement doesn't seem to work (Eg. select content
from file_table where file_id=1). It's returning empty content. I'm
using ADODB (http://phplens.com/adodb/) library to execute sql
statements.
Could someone please help me out on how to fetch the blob data with
ADODB functions?
