ssl-ca = /sandbox/mysql-4.0.21/ca-cert.pem
ssl-cert = /sandbox/mysql-4.0.21/server-cert.pem
ssl-key = /sandbox/mysql-4.0.21/server-key.pem

client is built with ssl as well.

using it as mysql --ssl-ca=cacert.pem --ssl-cert=client-cert.pem
--ssl-key=ssl-key.pem -u test -h trojanhorse

ran command

"GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES on *.* to test@'%' REQUIRE SSL;

flush privileges.

Only thing I get is error 1045 access denied, it doesn't indicate
what/where/why.

I can connect no problem if I remove the require SSL;

Anyone have any idea? The log doesn't say anything except denied. Very
informative.

I'm starting to think this is not suppose to work, everything is setup
just like all the docs.

Hello. I'm trying to store UTF-8 texts into a mySQL database. These texts contains Spanish special characters. If I set field as VARCHAR and browse stored data, I get 'año' instead of 'año'. But if I set field as BLOB, and I perform SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE my_field LIKE '%año%'

Hello, When I do a "AND" in a SQL query, eg. SELECT NAME WHERE SEX="male" AND AGE= "30", MySQL does a sub-search, right? i.e. it does the "WHERE SEX=male" first, and then searches through the list of *those* results to see if AGE=30? Does it do this from left to right? i.e. in the query above, would the table always, and necessarily, get searched for "SEX=male" first, and "AGE=30" second?

The major complaint I have about Python is that the packages which connect it to other software components all seem to have serious problems. As long as you don't need to talk to anything outside the Python world, you're fine. But once you do, things go downhill. MySQLdb has version and platform compatibility problems. So does M2Crypto. The built-in SSL support is weak. Even basic sockets don't quite work right; the socket module...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
