you can use cURL to get the page, then use PHP to extract the data and
store it in a mysql db.

Handling file downloading with Randy Birch very nice code (http://vbnet.mvps.org/code/internet/ftpdofiledownload.htm) raises a second question: I my case, the user should not be allowed to change the save destination for the downloaded file. Does anyone know if it is possible to circumvent the save dialogbox, for example by hiding it, or by auto-clicking the save command button on the dialogbox closing the box with the destination path...

Hello all, I don't know how to get around this one... If anybody can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it very much. I've been trying to send a (large) file to the browser via a download page that uses a file download component. The file downloads fine, except that Internet Explorer refuses to browse to a different page while the file is downloading! I don't understand why it does that and I don't know how to fix this...

I have an animated .gif on my website. It is about 36k. I want this on every page in my site, but it appears that it downloads every time a user loads a page. This will kill dial up users. Shouldn't I.E. pull this from Cache if it's there? Is there a way for me to set this image to not download on every page, but instead, use if from Temporary Internet Files on the users Cache? Thanks

Hi All, I have an asp.net 1.1 application that includes a rudimentary contacts database that must support importing from and exporting to Outlook. The file upload part works fine, but I'm having trouble allowing users to download their contacts so that they can import into Outlook. I am using a csv file to exchange the data been our system and Outlook. For security reasons I have avoided writing user's contacts to a csv file on the server...

Hello, I am a beginner/intermediate c++ coder. I have a program that I am writing and would like to be able to distribute to some of my friends. The problem with this is that the data files required by it are rather large, and most of them have email accounts with filesize limits. What I want to do is upload the files they'll need to my webpage and then have the program itself check to see if the files are present in the directories (I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
