I have a stored table in my database and the form I'm using is based on a
query that draws data from my stored table and a linked table. The linked
table is a *.txt file.
However, whenever I try to edit data I get the error message "Updating data
in a linked table is not supported by this ISAM." I can understand not being
able to edit the linked data, but the field I'm trying to update is drawn

Hello all,
This is going to be a rather lengthy "question".
I have an Access 2k database, separated front end/back end. Front end
copies are on about 30 workstations and used frequently during the
work day. The backend has a table called CLIENTS with approximately
6000 client records. Changes to data in the table are made via a
frontend db Form which has CLIENTS as its record source.

I am working in VC++ 6.0. I have a strange problem with the MS Jet
Exchange Isam (MSEXCH40.DLL). Using CDaoDatabase, I am trying to link
to exchange Public Folders/contact folders on my Win2K exchange 2000
server. I use the following code lines.

I received a "Could Not Find Installable ISAM" error (#3170) when using
Docmd.TransferDatabase to export a table from one database to another -

This fall I may try to convert an old MRP-II system from COBOL to C#. I
have been using Microsoft SQL Server while I have been learning C# to hold
the data. This is fine, but if I sell my product I will be forcing my
customers to buy SQL Server. In addition, the original COBOL uses ISAM for
all of its files. It would be cheaper for the end user and easier for my
