I'm writing a find and replace routine for a text editor I'm working
on. The editor has a rich text box on the main form (frmMain). The
find/replace form is modeled after the one in Word '97/2K. So far my
find code is working satisfactorily. (The replace code is not yet
written.)
One challenge has me stumped thus far. I need to find a way to make
sure my frmFindReplace does not obscure the view of the found word
that has been...

Hi there,
I am trying to understand the logic of full text search in mysql. I'm not using mysql 4. The search work OK, be it thast I get hits on certain words, whilst other words are discarded for some reason or other. Why is that. An example: I search in a text field for the word organisation. I get hits. When I search for...

Hi there,
I want to search Japanese characters with Full Text search function. I
created a table (tbSearch) for Full-text search on SQL 2000, English
Win2k Server. The table contains 4 fields, which are ID -- int,
primary key, identity; PageName -- nvarchar; Contents -- ntext;
Keywords -- ntext.
Defined a Full Text index and Full Text catalog in the Full Text Index
Wizards and selected "Neutral" from "Language for Word Breaker", the

I'm trying to execute a full-text query from a vb.net web application.
The problem I have is that in SQL Server, the syntax for a full-text
search is
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE CONTAINS( *, ' "searchstring" ')
For whatever reason, VB won't run that search string unless I eliminate

Hello group,
Does anyone know how near a word needs to be to another word to be
included in the results of a CONTAINS search that uses NEAR? Is this
setting adjustable? Is is stored in the registry? INI or config file?
I'm using SQL Server 7 SP3.
Thanks,
Kelly Greer

Hi,
I need to perform full text searches on a batch of PDF and Word files.
What is the best way to go?
After some research, I'm thinking of extracting the plain text from the
files with "pdftotext" and "catdoc", hamonizing the various possible
encodings to UTF-8, storing the text in a MySQL database, and then
using the full text search capabilities of MySQL.
Do you think that would work well? I am told that the files are mostly

Here's the rest of the tutorial I started earlier:
Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on
meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and
MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer
and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a
certain user; DocAppName let you find files of a particular program,
and so on.
Indexing Service uses plug-ins...

Hi,
We have the full text search table and are using CONTAINSTABLE to search in the fulltext search column, its workingfine, but we have a requirement that we need to return results which match a particular sequence in word.
ex: The search text column has the word as 0203456-345567
if we give the input as " 0203456", the result is coming and showing the above column,
but if we search for " 203456" no results return,

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
