a text file. For eg. suppose i want to search the pattern "abc"
in a text file, then which algorithm should i use.
I just want some hints, not the complete program.

I have to process some data in C that is given to me as a char * array. I
have a fairly large number of substrings (well, they're not actually
printable, but let's treat them as strings) that I have to search for in the
data.
I need to keep a count of how often each of these substrings occurs in my
original data and then print it out at the end.
This is a fairly mundane task, but since I have so many substrings, it's a
pain having to...

Hi
can anyone tell me what's the best way to search in binary content? Best if someone could post or link me to some source code (in C/C++).
The search should be as fast as possible and it would be great if the engine (or so) would accept multiple parameters (like a search offset, a max number of bytes to search in etc.)
Any ideas
Thanks a lot again

Hallo,
I have promised Jay B yesterday to do some tests.
The subject was a string evaluation that Jon had send in. Jay B was in doubt
what was better because there was a discussion in the C# newsgroup on 25
September. The regular expressions where in that newsgroup too involved.
I told yesterday night, to Jay that I would test all 4 methods and the
stupid method I was thinking of the first time that night when I saw Jon's

I have a DataTable containing thousands of records. Each record has a
primary key field called "ID" and another field called "PRODUCT" I want to
retrieve the rows that satisy the following criteria:
I have a list of about 100 numbers which correspond to the ID field and also
another 40 say numbers corresponding to the numbers in the PRODUCT field. I
want to show the rows that correspond to both these criteria.

Hi.
I am somewhat new to this and would like some advice.
I want to search my xml file using "keyword" search and
return results based on "proximity matching" - in other words,
since the search string will often not produce a direct match,
the results will be based on proximity (50%, 20% 100%, etc).
are there any good examples out there on how to do keyword
searches on XML data? How should i set up my xml file so

I'm trying to parse a table on a webpage to pull down some data I
need. The page is based off of information entered into a form. when
you submit the data from the form it displays a "Searching..." page
then, refreshes and displays the table I want. I have code that grabs
data from the page using cURL but when I look at the data it contains
the "Searching..." page and not the table that I want. below is the
code i have so far....Thanks...

Hi
I've a list of Values with varchar field in main in a table. I wanted to have fast search as there are very less insertions/updations. Thought to do a FullText Searching on that varchar field.
Imp Note: The name column can be a phrase too.
I want to search on the key stroke from front end.
so should be able to search the name column on single charater or words.
declare @a varchar(10)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
