Need to automate adding a file to MySQL as it uploads to webserver!

Hi

I need to load a csv file into mysql, which is easy enough. But I need
it to be automated so when the file is uploaded to my webserver, it
will automatically load the file to update table data.

Any help would be brill.

Cheers
Shahram

Why not cron a job to go off every, say five minutes or so to check for an
updated file?

I am designing a document management system (DMS). The files are stored in a directory on the webserver. The filenames for the documents are stored in a MySQL database. The DMS will track revisions from the initial version through the updates. We must have strict permissions set so only authorized personnel can access some documents. All of the documents when uploaded are given totally random names such as "114723fb5422c6bd5ed18f6.doc"....

Hi, Is it possible and how to run a program on our webserver after a file has been uploaded? This is all server based. We have a requirement that an end user uploads a file to our web server. After the file has been uploaded the next line of code needs to call a program installed on the webserver that runs a remote command on our AS/400. TIA

When I try to upload a file to a resource on my local webserver, my code catches an exception that a 405 error (method not supported) has occured on the server. I set the code up nearly exactly as it is shown in the following link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemnetwebclientclassuploadfiletopic.asp The only thing I did differently is that I also set the BaseAddress property of the...

My problem has to do with not being able to have custom error handlers when the file size exceeds what the IIS is configured to handle. I do understand that one can change the attributes: maxRequestLength (along with the executionTimeout) of the httpRuntime section in web.config or machine.config to control how much and (how long) to open up the IIS gates. However, for the cases when the size is larger than this

I was looking for a simple way to upload a file to a webserver from a standalone C# windows application, I had a lot of trouble finding a simple solution but ran a simple way(note: I have not checked to see what the filesize limitations and stuff are but works great so far, most likely the size limit is specified in the php.ini, but can be overridden in your script) Anyway this just simply passes the file to a php script on a webserver...

First of all I am rather new into PHP. I use php 5 and I am putting together a web site for a local association I belong too. Most of the site is okay, except for this problem : I need to be able for the member of the site to upload files (gif, jpg or pdf). After reading a lot about the danger of file uploading, I decided to create a folder at the root of the web server. The upload of the files goes on without any problem, but when i...

Hello Everyone, I'm trying to debug someone elses php code. I'm actually a Perl programmer, with OO experience, but not in php. The code is supposed to upload a photo from a form and save it both on the file system and in a mySql database. 90% of the time it works just fine. But for some reason, with some photos, it doesn't work. The image never shows up on the filesystem and there is no entry in the database. I feel it's a problem...

Hi I currently have a site where users can upload files. These files can be doc, wmv, jpeg, xls, dwf, dwf and dwg. These files are uploaded to /home/**user**/uploads and not /home/ **user**/public_html/uploads to prevent any old user from browsing them. I then use a general showDoc page with the following function (from

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
