PHP alternative for MySQL

I am familiar with Microsoft Access, but I have never used MySQL. Does MySQL
have the ability to set up Queries and Reports like Access, or do you need
separate software in order to do this? It appears PHP is always mentioned in
conjuction with MySQL. I really don't want to learn another scripting
language and I am not familiar with Unix. Any suggestions for alternatives
to PHP that would be simpler than using an acutual programming or scripting
language?

You might find it easiest to use MS Access as a client for MySQL.
That's the best solution if you need a non-programming tool in which you
can create Queries and Reports in a visual way.

Hi everyone. :-) Our site gets a ton of traffic on our contact forms, which collect the standard information (name, address, city, state, zip, home phone, etc.) The form validation is done with PHP. To eliminate (or at least deter) people wasting time submitting phony information, we can compare the state to the zip code (one DB table) and the zip code to the area code (another table in same DB).

I'd like to do something like: delete from a where id in (select * from b where pattern like '%something%') I may or may not have the syntax right. I know that this sort of subquery isn't available until mysql 4.1. 4.1 beta is taking too long to release and I need something now, so here's what I'm doing now: replace a (id) select -refId id from b where pattern like

At this moment I use MsAccess and i can build about every databound application i want. Who knows about a serious open source alternative? Because Windows will be a client platform for some time, i prefer a solution that (also) supports Windows. On the net I found a number of products that i looked at, but none of them gave me the impression of a serious candidate at this moment (KNoda, Gnome DB Manager, InterBase...). 2 additional...

Firstly, I know there's a lot of old posts on this topic but none seem to be relevant to my problem (selecting from a single table rather than several different tables)... I have a table with a user identifier (uID) and a movie identifier (movID) and need to select the movie identifiers that appear in the table for uID-1 but not for uID-2, using an alternative to NOT IN as it isn't supported by the version of MySQL that I'm using. I'd...

Two questions in a row.. I'm on a roll :) When i perform UPDATEs in my admin system, I'm checking for success by using mysql_affected_rows() and this works fine if data is changed and updated. However, if a user submits an admin page without chaning any details, the SQL executes fine, but mysql_affected_rows() returns 0 as MySQL is clever enough to work out that nothing changed.

Hi Friends, Is there any alternative to 'stored procedures' in MySQL for versions other than MySQL 5.0 ? Or, is there any conversion trick used to change stored procedures in MSSQL to 'something else' in MySQL(versions below 5.0)? Thanks in advance.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
