Hi folks,
I am a newbie to Python and am hoping that someone can get me started
on a log parser that I am trying to write.
The log is an ASCII file that contains a process identifier (PID),
username, date, and time field like this:
1234 williamstim 01AUG03 7:44:31
2348 williamstim 02AUG03 14:11:20

Hi,
I have a table that contains log data, usually around a million records. The
table has about 10 columns with various attributes of the logged data,
nothing special. We're using SQL Server 2000.
Some of the columns (for example "category") have duplicate values
throughout the records. We have a web page that queries the table to show
all the unique columns, for example:

I have tried looking this up and couldn't find a straightforward
answer:
I just want to find DISTINCT records on one column, but pick the most
recent one (a date in another column).
table:
id | price | date_entered
1, 5, 2005

I have a table from which I'm trying to extract certain information. For
historical reasons, we archive every action on a particular thing
('thing' is identified, funnily enough, by 'id'). So the only way to
find out the current state of a particular combination of attributes is
to "select distinct on (id, ...) ... order by date desc".
In the examples below, I've taken real output from psql and done a
global search/replace on various...

I have a xml file and i want to format it using XSL
My XSL file and XML below
I needed to do a distinct which is ok on the first node "Code"
For the "programDescription" i did below which gets the Count of the nodes
and i get the
programDescription node but it duplicates for the selected "Code" Node.
So if the Count is 3 its shows values "Crazy Training 2" 3 times
for Code "PRG004"

I'm trying to write a query that will select a distinct count of more
than one field. I have records that display user productivity. Each of
the records have a time associated with it and I want to be able to
tell the distinct count of the products numbers and of the pallets ID
that they worked with. Do need to work out some sort of sub-query to do
this?

Hi
I need to generate a CSV of names and address from a table and I would like only one result (it doesn't matter which) per distinct email address. If possible, they also need to be ordered by DateAdded descending so I can select just the most recent 1000 results.
My table contains a number of fields such as FirstName, LastName, Address1, Address2, Postcode, Email etc. A plain distinct doesn't work as they may have entered a slightly...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
