My company is considering acquisition of a packaged application that's based
on My SQL. This would be our first use of MySQL and the CEO is worried
about using a "no-name" database (he's a Microsoft bigot).
His specific concern is that an app written on MySQL will not have the
necessary throughput and he's asked me to research MySQL's capabilities.
From everything I've read so far, I'm comfortable that throughput will not
be a problem...

How do we increase the throughput between an app server and the DB2 server.
I tried increasing the bufferpage size, and get throughput around 5.4
mb/sec. I compute throughput by calculating the total number of bytes
inserted/ total time taken.
I tried increasing the buffer pool page size to 32KB the maximum allowed .
and the mode is in non-blocking mode..any other params that i can tune?
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm looking for help monitoring the communication of a client/server
application. We are using the .Net default serialization/
deserialization with the binary formatter using .Net 2.0. I don't see
any chance spying on what is going on during communication. We
experience poor performance and I want to figure out why.
I'd like to measure the throughput and amount of data and I'd like to
figure out how much time is consumed by...

Hello again all..
We have a giant application from a giant software vendor that has very
poor SQL.
It's a PLM CAD application, that makes a call to the db for every cad
node in the assembly.
So for an assembly with many parts, from remote locations, the
performance goes out the window.
Locally, it all works fine because network latency is <1ms. But some
remote sites we have (that are growing) latency can be as high as
80-100ms.

Hello,
I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to SQL. I was told that SQL
server does not function well on a WAN where network latency between,
say, the SQL server and a front-end server is greater than 250ms.
I can't find anything information supporting this claim online, so I
was hoping someone here could tell me if this is true or not?
Thank You!!

Hi,
I am using ASP.Net 2.0 with the MySQL Connector .Net 5.1.2.2.
I added these lines to the web.config to make the connector.net able to
handle the SqlConnection object (and so to bind it to a grinview/formview
etc.):
<DbProviderFactories>
<add name="MySQL Data Provider" invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient"

The test need to be done for 100,200,300,400,...1000 concurrent connection. I got the result data and plotted 2...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
