Stored procedure hangs

-
i have a problem with a stored procedure. It works when i insert a new
record but when i try to reinsert the same record again to test the "IF"
statement, the server hangs and lost connection.
CREATE PROCEDURE ....
(
IN p_id INT,
OUT p_status INT
)
BEGIN
IF (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ... WHERE id = p_id) > 0 THEN
BEGIN
SET p_status = -1;
END;
ELSE
BEGIN
....
....
SET p_status = 1;
END;
END IF;
END;

The whole call to the procedure is running fine, but immediatly after this msaccess hangs, when the focus goes back to the calling form ? Has anyone any idea what i can test or look at. Thanks a lot !!!!!!

Hello to All, I'm trying to retrieve records from AS/400 in an VBA application. So, I've made an RPG program, then a stored procedure wchich calls that RPG program, and finally some VBA code to call the stored procedure and retrieve data from AS/400. The problem is, that when I finally run my VB code, it just hangs. But when I call the same stored procedure from "pure" SQL - it works perfect. (I evaluate Aqua Data Studio 3.7) What I...

I have an ASP that has been working fine for several months, but it suddenly broke. I wonder if windows update has installed some security patch that is causing it. The problem is that I am calling a stored procedure via an ASP (classic, not .NET) , but nothing happens. The procedure doesn't work, and I don't get any error messages. I've tried dropping and re-creating the user and permissions, to no avail. If it was a permissions...

I am trying to learn how to use stored procedures written in COBOL so I wrote 2 small programs to test it out: the stored procedure and the the calling program. I have no problems compiling them but when the calling program enters the SP, it either hangs or gives me sqlcode -1131. We are on AIX 5.2 (I think) running DB2 UDB ver 7.2 and MF COBOL 4.1. Below are the programs I wrote:

Hi! I already sent this to the ACCESS newsgroup. But since I do not know really which side is really causing the problem, I have decided to send this inquiry to this newsgroup also, if I may. Below is the environment of the application: a. MS Access 2003 application running on Windows XP b. SQL Server 2000 - backend running MS Server 2003 OS

I have a VB6 app that executes an SQL stored procedure that returns a recordset that I loop through 1 record at a time. During the looping process, I am attempting to insert contents from the recordset to another SQL table. This seems to work with small recordsets, but hangs the app if the recordset is large. When I use the SQL Analyzer tool and execute the "insert" command it works fine, so the syntax is correct. Also, if the VB6 calls a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
