Trying to be of some help

It is very interesting to me that most people in this group can't do simple
SQL. Are you viewing MySQL as a simple file system? As long as you do that,
you will
not understand SQL in any dialect. So from now on:

When you have a question about SQL. post the table structures. Uh, "With
Create".
Post some sample data in the form of INSERTS.
Regards,
Rich

Those are great suggestions, but keep in mind that many people who ask
"newbie" style questions aren't regular users of the newsgroup, so they
might not see this guideline.

Some folks ask a question on a newsgroup when they need to know some
basic usage of a software product, but it's not their area of daily work
responsibility.

Bill K.

I am getting strange print-related error messages when trying to create (not print!) reports. For example, when I click 'new' to create a report then choose 'design view', I get an error message that says: 'There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The object may have been sent to a printer that was unavailable.' When I choose 'report wizard', I can go through all of the steps but then I get an error message...

I'm trying to convert this macro to a c# function but I have a big problem. It's on the LEFT side of an assignment statement and I am extremely flustered over this one because I'm a little rusty and have been struggling over this for days, not wanting to show all my ignorance in final desparate plea for help which this is ... Here is the macro ... #define X(t,b) (sp->x)

I've searched google intensely on this topic and it seems noone really knows how to approch this. The goal I don't want clients to give out their usernames and passwords to friends, since the site relies on subscrption fees. Sessions ID's are matched between the browser and the server. So a users can login with same username and password and those sessions are tracked individually. Some suggest create table fields with the session ID...

I have a barcode scanner which uses a "keyboard wedge" program so that the data it scans comes through as if it was typed on a keyboard. I am trying to have the data in the barcode be displayed in a text box. I know that there are certain control characters embedded in the data that I want to display substitutions for in the text box, for instance I want to replace ASCII character 04 with the string "<EOT>". I have tried doing a simple...

I'm having the worst time trying to login to myspace through code. Can someone tell me how to do this? Please try it yourself before replying, only because I have asked this a couple of times in the past in other places, and while the help was much appreciated, it seemed everyone just wanted to 'theoretically' explain how to do it, but when I tried to do it myself, I couldn't login. I want to simply pass the email address and password to...

Just the first entry is saved. Can...

Hello, I need some help, I have about 200 databases that are copies of an original database that has a similiar table in all of the databases, called "tblCodebook". What I am trying to do is to create a macro that will go into each of the 200 databases, run an identical "unmatched query" to find any records that might be in one of the copies of the "tblCodebook". There is a shared primary key in the "tblCodebook" which is a StoryID and...

I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 for development of an ASP.NET site, and I have a problem that greatly effects my workflow at times. It seems that after I upload new files anywhere within the directory structure of the site that is visible to VS, the next time I perform a build VS takes extra time, apparently downloading the new files (though the time required seems much longer than a one-time download should take). During this...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
