Best way to get data from database

1 New Member
This is not so easy to explain, but I'll try my best

There is an application sw for mobiles that you can download and then receive alerts of an specific area (sports, music, etc). When you donwload this sw you can register and create a profile. This information is keep it in a database from a server. I have acces to that server.

I have also different mobile pages (in another server) and I want to identify the people that have acces to them with this database.

My first thought is that I can create a cookie when they create their profile, however if the cookie is delete it, how can I create it again? also, for the people who has already registered...ho w can I give them a cookie? whit the alerts? this alerts are sended to the application with a xml format.

This application also have banners that are sended from a sw i have.

I appreciate any help or suggestion u can give me, Thank you

My name is Glenn, I am an experienced VB5.0/6.0 programmer who is starting a new project using VB.NET. The project is simple but will be using a .mdb file for storing of data. Only one person will be accessing the database at one time and the database will be stored on a mapped shared folder. I have been reading on ADO.NET and am getting a little confused and wondering if I am am doing the right thing. The use of Data Adapters and...

Is there any way to create a Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.Database object without reading from a configuration file? I am writing a utility that manages databases in SQL Server. The utility queries SQL Server for the database names. So I don't know the names of the databases beforehand, but I will know the names and connection strings once the server has been queried. However, I have a class that I'd like to work with...

I have no experience with database applications. This database will likely hold only a few hundred items, including both textfiles and binary files. I would like a pure Python solution to the extent reasonable. Suggestions? Thank you, Alan Isaac

I need to find out the best data structures for A* algorithm. Well, it is not exactly A*, but I've changed it a bit. What I need is as follows. I am using Visual C++. 1. I am keeping a Map(not the STL map, but my own Map.), It is a 200*200 array. 2. i need to find the shortest paths between two locations. 3. I am keeping an Open list and a closed list for the implementation. 4. The basic operations on the Open list are by order of...

Hello: I got tired of trying to find good implementations of collections and other data structures in C#. So, I started implementing my own. However, data structures is a wholly different process in C# compared to C++. I have to be a lot more careful about dangling pointers to make sure things don't get pushed into further GC generations. When I started learning about Comparer and similar classes, I got a

Hi, I am trying to get supplier data into a new database. I have a table containing item no connected with supplier no's. Then I have another table containing supplier no and a number of fields with address, phone, name and such data. A third table has most of the suppliers but not all of them. On the other hand this table has been updated continuously. I want to create a table with the most detailed and recent address to all suppliers of items...

hi fellow coders, what is the best data structure to store a grid / matrix, with 2 Keys (row, col), and the Values (cell entries) can be any object? Similar to a 2-dimensional array, but i am trying to avoid using arrays. Specifically i am trying to implement an "Availability Calendar", where i want to show RoomTypes as row headers (variable number), and Weekdays as column headers (fixed, limited to 2 weeks at a time); and the intersection...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
