.net compact framework needs to be on the phone, and you need to make sure that your VB application only uses compact framework classes and methods.

When you are creating the project you need to select New > Smart Devices Project > VB.Net

You will then see the Template of a PDA on screen. The majority of VB code will work in this medium, but a number of functions/classes are removed/had functionality removed in order to make them more mobile friendly.

The vague requirements will be: 1) Always-On monitoring of data (e.g. through serial port and other sources) 2) Local machine user interface 3) Remote machine user interface (networked)

I have a CRM application that I've written in Ruby that currently runs on Win32 clients as well as Linux ARM clients (Sharp Zaurus PDA's). The application uses Qt for its GUI presentation and XMLRPC calls to push/pull contact data back and forth. It suits my purposes, but I am looking to port it to other platforms, such as Windows Mobile and Palm OS PDA's. Getting Ruby compiled for the Palm OS is out of the question, and getting Ruby to...

As a result we have re-built the application in VS2005 with .NET 2.0. We can deploy the application to the mobile device OK via active-synch. However as our mobile devices are widely distributed the normal way of loading the application is to FTP...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
