Hi I'm just learning C and I was trying to do an exercise in a book
which asks me to write a program to calculate the volume of a
sphere. I know the formula is Volume = (4/3)*(Pi)*(Radius)^3
and I've been trying to write that but have been unsuccesfull so far.
I tryed:
volume = 4/3 * PI * radius;
volume = volume * volume * volume;

Do exists a way to detect a volume label of a disk?
I've found the way to do this using WMI (System.Management) or winapi function. The second solution is principal non-portable in future, the first one require service WMI to work on client (for sure it's not a guarantee to be allways running). I do not want to include in my application logic, that will attempt to start that service before determining logical drive volume label.
If no way to...

I have developed a new type of chart. It shows the relative volume for
each price during an interval.

I am a Data Visualization person, not a Technical Analyst. I strive to
find new ways of presenting more data that is relative.
In a bar or candlestick chart with the volume plotted below, you can
have some interesting interval data:

Using VS 2003, VB. Net, MSDE...
Usining task sheduler, I wish to mute the volume in the .bat file that task
scheduler runs (windows XP Pro). I don't see anyway to do this via a .bat
line command (if there is, please let me know).
So the next option would be to write a small .net program that would do it
and run that via task scheduler. How would you mute the volume in code in
the vb.net program? I'm not quire sure where to get...

Ok I am not a programmer, I copied some code and very painfully got it
working in VB6. I can adjust the volume with waveOutSetVolume on winmm.dll.
But I could not seem to be able to figure out how to adjust the master
volume. I thought maybe if I upgraded this into VS2005 VB.Net then it might
be a little easier. But now I am getting PInvokeStackImbalance messages on
this, and it doesn't even run. We're talking a very little program... A...

Is there a way in Mozilla/Firefox to ring the bell? For example, in
Emacs or Notepad (on my Win XP Pro system) if you enter certain
shortcuts (e.g. ^g or ^q, respectively), you get a sound to let you
know that from the app's point of view, something unexpected happened.
Can I accomplish something similar in FF with javascript or via the
keyboard?
Thanks,

Hello ,
I am looking for help in controlling the volume of a media file in a
vb.net application. The code that I currently have (attached below)
tries to control the master volume which finally affects all
applications opened, whereas I want to control the volume only for my
application alone. I have a trackbar control on my form to scroll
values and increase/decrease the volume. How would I control the volume
for the media file opened...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
