script for converting letters into colours

1 New Member
I need to assign numbers to single letters, which can then be added together and converted into a colour using the computer ( for a graphic design project-got difficulties with the programming site of things) Can't find stuff on how to best do that. Has anybody some advice (where to read) or suggestions that could help to achieve that conversion.
thanks

Gee, not a lot of responses to this one.

Do you know what language the script is likely to end up in? Yo umight get better info by posting in the forum for that language. The actual letters-to-numbers task sounds reasonably simple.
