Hi,
maybe anyone already knows that Apple is distributing Postgres 7.3.3
with RemoteDesktop 2. Its located in
/System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/rmdb.bundle/
BUT... they did not do a good job: -their- installation is using the
default port which means: either -their- version works or the one that
the server owner maybe installed on the same server. In our case
neither our Postgres nor the one from RemoteDesktop 2 did start...

I am trying to install PostgreSQL on OS X 10.3, using the package from
Entropy.ch. The installation instructions there, as well as anywhere
else I have seen them on the net, say to create a user (using the
System Preferences pane) with a shortname "postgres". The problem is,
this user already exists in my netinfo database/domain, and so I cannot
either create a new user with the same short name, or use this user,
because I do not know...

This one is for the UDB developers'
With the advancements that Apple computers have made in the last couple

will DB2 UDB be made available to run on a Apple computer. If Apple
now runs on
UNIX how hard would it be to run it on DB2?

Hi Groupies,
I have an Intel Macbook running OS X 10.4.
It came installed with Python 2.3.5. I have since installed MacPython
with version 2.4.4, cool.
When I open a bash terminal session and type python, it brings up
version 2.3.5. If I type IDLE it brings up version 2.4.4.

Hi, I just began a new course at uni and I'm gonna have to use C. I
have never used it before (my programming experience is Java, Ruby,
SQL, assembly), so I was wondering how do you install it on Mac
machine?
What installers to use? Which are the best (I will use it for
graphical applications)? What good tutorials are there?
Thanks,
Michal

The Apple invasion into corporate has started and I can't say if I am excited or scared. As an IT manager, I have nightmares over all the support and technical issues of integrating Apple hardware and software into our company. As an owner of ample Apple products, I'm excited about being able to use my iPhone and MacBooks at the company.

Can somebody please tell me how to install the Tidy module for PHP 5
on a Mac? I tried what the php.net website said, which is running the
command "pecl install tidy" but the installation failed somewhere in
the make script. (It looks like PECL is trying to install Tidy version
1.2, even though the documentation says that's only for PHP4.) Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's the output from the "pecl install tidy" command in...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
