how to resize drive

Hi all,
I have OpenSUSE10.2 and WinXP (home) installed in my laptop. I have alloted 5 GB for "/" and 5.6 GB for "/home" in linux. Now, I want to resize the drives as follows,

6GB for "/" and 4.6 GB for "/home" how can I do it?

I tired using the partition manager in yast, but it gave the error message "unable to unmount the /home drive". I tired unmounting it from console, but got the error message "device is busy".

So how can i proceed?

Are you trying to repartition the same drive that holds your 'blessed' system folder (iow, did you boot from this drive)?

Try booting from a CD.

actually i tried to resize the "/home" drive (obviously not the drive through I boot), that is reduce the size of the drive. But even this didn't work. Forget the "/" drive. All I had to do is delete the "/home" drive and then only I was able to resize it....

But anyways thanks for the suggestion of booting from disc and doing resize, will try it...
