pyHello, Google helped me find a nice package to interface python with MS Excel. "win32all", or sometimes called by the name "pywin32". http://starship.python.net/crew/mhammond/ However, this win32all extension seems to be specifically built for the windows platform only.

I'd like to be able to access files on a remote system in an "invisible" manner from a Windows system. What I'm after is to be able to interact with the remote filesystem just as I would locally (and just as it is done under UNIX). Any suggestion to a module that already does this or something similar?

I am looking for a simple extraction/load program to load data daily from a Progress 8.3B database via ODBC to a mysql 3.23.57 database. It does not necessarily need to do any data-type transforms. It need to run on Windows 2000 and be able to run it as a service, or as a cron task if running under Unix. Any suggestions? --

Hi, It's seems that csh and tcsh acts a bit different when handling special characters in quotes. i.e: if i'll supply my program with the following arguments: -winpath "c:\\temp\\" tcsh will take it as -winpath "c:\temp\" and csh will take it literally (with the double-slashes). Is there a way for me to know what shell is currently running my

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
