Peter Norvig's creative thinking triggered renewed interest in PEP 289.
That led to a number of contributors helping to re-work the pep details
into a form that has been well received on the python-dev list:

In brief, the PEP proposes a list comprehension style syntax for

Integers
For example: Function( 1, 100 );
And the function will return me an array holding a random subset of integers
in that range of a size that I specify

While working on type expressions I am rather stuck for a
way to express recursive types. A simple example of this is a
singly-linked list of integers. In some languages you have compiler
syntax
which suspends evaluation so you can have recursive types. e.g.
typedef Linked_List := int, Linked_List
In LISP I would use a macro.
