Hi,

When I am trying to run Cognos setup in IBM AIX 5.3, the following error is displaying:

IOT - Abort trap (Core Dumped)

Please inform me the reason for this error.
I would suggest contacting the developer in order to diagnose this problem, as it is likely a bug in the software, not the operating system.

Hi All, I know that db2 V7.2 is no more supported and nor OS/2 is supported anymore but I wonder if someone here can give me some help on this. Platform: DB2 V7.2 FixPak 14 OS: OS/2 (actually ECS 1.2 latest fixpak) I've migrated our production database from DB2 V5.2 to V7.2 GA for OS/2 which is the latest available for this platform. Migration succeded and database works OK.

hi everyone, I am running my application on AIX 5 which has the mlock() system call(for locking files in memory). When I run this application with root privileges , it runs fine. But since we are denied root privileges for certain machines , we are compelled to use suid bit technique. So using this when I run, execution aborts with the error message "IOT/Abort Trap" and no core dump is created. Can anyone tell why this happens and how can...

I compiled a game client and it crashed (segmentation fault) resulting in a core file being generated. I'm trying to find out exactly what caused it to crash. Any ideas how I can do this with gdb? In the Makefile can I just add a "-g" flag to have the binary produced with debugging symbols? The source is written in ANSI C. This is what I have now: "CC = gcc" The client binary is 433680 and the core file produced when it crashed

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
