Hi;
I am writing my first python program and would like to know how to
change stdout to refer to my default printer or any other printer on
my network. The other question is, Is there an API set of classes that
allow me to interact with network devices.
In other words, if I have a path and filename inside of a string
variable in python, how do I send the file to the printer??
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I'm having problems sending information from a python
script to a printer. I was wondering if someone might send me
in the right direction. I wasn't able to find much by Google
TIA

Does anyone know how I can write a program to retrieve information about
printers. Not the print queues but the physical hardware printer. I want to
retrieve info such as pages printed. If anyone has a sample program or can
point me in the right direction that would be great.

I want to find a printer that will accept a print-stream
from a database app JUST for time/date stamping
on inbound documents received at a law office.
The printer would have no paper tray, labels or
other paper source. It would work something like
an employee time-card machine.
Legal secretary logged in at particular workstation
running the dbase app simply clicks a button launching
procedure in app that will send print stream to the...

Hi al
Please can someone point me in a right direction/tell me how to go about building an appliation that can monitor the printer queue on a windows platform(2000,XP,NT and 2003). What are the steps I need to follow in order to monitor the queues and store the info eg have a counter to count the number of pages printed by a specific username. I have a a brief look on the web and I have had no problem finding limited VB.NET stuff, but I want...

Is there any way to do this by using an activeX control or anything else?
The reason I want to this is that I want to print a pdf file that I generate
on the fly (with Reporting Services) without actually starting Acrobat
Reader. I want to automatically set the printer, set the size of the paper
and then send the command to the printer.
I know I can easily do this in Windows applications, but in ASP.NET, is it
possible?

Can anyone give me some guidance on installing a local printer with VB 2005?
I'm guessing I would probably do this with WMI, but i'm not finding anything
obvious. I see how to add a networked printer, but nothing to add a local
printer, assign it a port & driver.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
