A java program we have written crashes with IBM JDK 1.3.1 on linux.
It works fine on other platforms(Solaris,HPUx). It gets a SIGSERV
Signal 11 and crashes just after few minutes after starting up. THe
program creates a good number of threads.
Any suggestions most welcome.
Have tried following
setting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
disabling JIT by passing -Djava.compiler=NONE

I have been developing a Python program with two intercommunicating
(using sockets) parts, one of which runs on a desktop and the other on
a PDA. For ease of development, I developed them both on a desktop.

Greetings,
I've been having issues while debugging programs. The problems only
appear when using the '-d' switch and I get the impression it has to do
with UTF8 and regex matching but I don't know how to deal with it.
One particular example is a program which uses the DBI to connect to a
database, which will run fine normally but will hang during the call to
DBI->connect() when running under the debugger.

I am learning C, having fun with strings & pointers at the moment!
The following program is my solution to an exercise to take an input,
strip the first word, and output the rest. It works fine when you give
it 2 or more words, but when there's only 1 word the results vary
depending on whether it's on Windows or Linux: under MSVC it displays
no output (as it should); under gcc/Linux it instead gives
"Segmentation fault".
Any ideas...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
